Workshop “The Role of Police in Combating Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims”, Banja Luka

On September 14 and 15, 2017 a representative of the Association “RS Ministry of the Interior Women Network – RS WPON” participated as a speaker at the workshop “The Role of Police in Combating Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims” organized in Banja Luka by TAIEX – the European Commission Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument and the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.

The aim of the workshop was to discuss effective measures taken by the police to combat domestic violence and protect victims. The main focus was placed on the matter of interviewing techniques and protection of women and children. In addition, the workshop addressed the issues of the effective implementation of existing legislation, the harmonization of domestic violence laws in force in the entities and the Istanbul Convention, the statistics gathering and inter-institutional cooperation.

The implemented activities of the RS MoI Women Network on prevention and suppression of domestic violence were also presented during the workshop.

OSCE Workshop, Banja Luka

On 08/09/2017 at the Jelena Hotel in Banja Luka, a representative of the Association “Women’s Network of MUP RS – RS WPON” as a panelist-exhibitor participated in a workshop organized for 25 representatives of civil society organizations by the OSCE Mission to BiH on “Domestic Violence as a Security Threat” “.

On October 22 and 23, 2012, in East Sarajevo, a representative of the Association “RS MoI Women Network – RS WPON” participated as a trainer at the training for professionals – subjects of protection, organized by the Association “Women to Women” in partnership with the Gender Equality Commission of Eastern Ilidža Municipality and in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Gender Center and the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Women Network.

The training was organized as a part of a project aimed at significant improvement of the quality of life of women victims of both domestic and other forms of gender-based violence.
