Roundtable “Strengthening the Role of Women in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior”, Banja Luka

On Friday, March 2, 2018 the Association “Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Women Network – RS WPON” organized in Banja Luka the round table “Strengthening the Role of Women in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior” for its members.

The roundtable was dedicated to the position and career development of a female police officer and a civil servant in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, which was addressed by the Association’s members and the director of the NGO “Women’s Center“ Trebinje, Ljiljana Cickovic, who spoke about the role of the non-governmental sector in asserting women rights.

On this occasion, the members discussed the future activities of the Network, the newly formed Gender Committee and Sport and Culture Committee, the Network’s Strategic Plan, implementation of the OSCE-supported project “Taking Reports on Domestic Violence and Gender-based Offences through Social Networks and the Internet”, sport activities that Network representatives would take part in and many other topics.

Round table „Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Srpska“, Banja Luka

On May 12, 2016 representatives of the Association “RS MoI Women Network – RS WPON” participated as speakers at the round table entitled “Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Srpska”, which was organized in Banja Luka for female high school students. The round table was organized by the Association for Helping Children and Women Victims of Domestic Violence “Women Centre Trebinje” within the project “Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Srpska”.

Representatives of the RS MoI Women Network gave a presentation at the round table on the role and importance of women in police services and discussed with round table participants the status of women police officers.
