EDUCATION OF POLICE OFFICERS ON GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN SOCIAL MEDIA

ABOUT THE PROJECT The project “Education of police officers on gender-based violence in social media” was implemented from December 31, 2019 to July 31, 2020. Before the trainings took place, input and output tests had been prepared for trainees, as a tool to measure both attitudes and knowledge and skills acquired at the training. Although everyday experiences from cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina show that Roma children often appear as victims of various forms of asocial behavior, especially as victims of begging offences, the competent authorities do not have the necessary statistical and analytical data to indicate the extent to which this problem is widespread in BiH. Also, Roma children appear as victims of crimes such as instigation to begging, and trafficking for sexual exploitation and begging. In 2016 and 2017, with the approval of the minister of the interior and the financial support of the OSCE Mission to BiH, the Association “RS MoI Women Network – RS WPON” implemented the projects “Domestic Violence – Education of Police Officers” and “Domestic Violence – Education of Police Officers – Managers”.
