Introducing Gender Agenda in the Republic of Serbia MoIA

On November 01, 2019 representatives of the Association “The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Women Network”, Sanja Sumonja and Zeljka Mileusnic, were panelists at the conference titled “Institutional Integration of Gender Equality in Regional Police Services” held at hotel “Crowne Plaza” in Belgrade, Serbia. Representatives of the RS MoI Women Network presented implemented and ongoing activities of the Network on integrating gender equality and strengthening the role of women in the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, which have been receiving a full support of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in recent years. Particular emphasis was placed on the excellent results in empowering women in the security sector and improving activities to prevent and combat gender-based violence, which draw the attention of the regional police services to the Association’s organizational model, functioning, implemented projects and other relevant activities. The conference in Belgrade was organized by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Swedish Police in Serbia.
